A STUDY IN SCARLET: YOU DO NOT EXPECT IT
A study in scarlet
Infatuated and driven by one of the most incredible Doyle's work telling "sherlock Holmes" stories, in fact named "A study in scarlet", you perhaps fueled your mind with the idea that we would interface a discussion on the undeniably surmountable abilities of the writer, or even more of the detective. Instead, we will be somehow touching a reference to the romance but posing emphasis on the reason of the color Scarlett itself that DOYLE chose, analyzing how this shade of red was then particularly opted by the author as thread of the story, whilst analyzing the historical color correlation and the current actual value.
It goes without saying that the well-meditating mind of such an author could not leave such details behind. The story revolves in fact around a study which is yellow, not red, leading readers to, unavoidable related wonders. Well, "simply" elucidating, Scarlet Red is actually the train of thought of the crime scene filled with the emotion bonded and related to murder, and, most of all, associated with the color of the blood. Clearly, the wise writer, wanted to create the perfect background for the king of deduction barely connoted as detective and his lifesaver, stimulating colleague. The two are fair enough placed a criminal environment fulfilled with threaten and mystery, so, with a deep scarlet bloody shade.
That said, textile wise and fashion-correlated-wise scarlet places its historical moment on the medieval Europe, standing out as a type of fine and expensive woolen cloth. The tint embodies a brilliant color, sometimes tinged in orange, which excites emotions and motivates to take action, emphasizes pioneering spirit and leadership qualities such as ambition, determination confidence and power.
All in all, sherlock wise or simply barely humanistic wise we must admit that scarlet red is one of the most emotions-related color, which in its "non good", "spiritual" correlation or on the current "empowering" vie. Effects psychology in multiple ways.
